Linda & the Lab
The Intersection of Science and Service
My
Story
My name is Linda Pistun.
I am an entrepreneur, writer, and science communicator living in Northern Virginia. I have always loved math and science, and I have always been in a hurry. I started college classes at age 7, and entered Thomas Jefferson High School for Science & Technology at age 10. I love to learn.
As the Founder and CEO of Linda’s Lab, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, I am working to improve science education and end world hunger through insect protein. I share science with others through speaking events, science demonstrations, and my nonprofit programs. My rescued Eastern Box Turtle, Darwin, helps me teach others about habitat loss and environmental stewardship.
My independent scientific research is based on the potential for insects to solve many of our largest problems, including hunger, sustainable farming, and polystyrene pollution. In support of both my research and my nonprofit programs, I share my laboratory with a large mealworm farm.
